MIMA CAMPUS

PROJECT GOALS

MIMA Campus is a company based in France with a branch in Portugal. They aim to revolutionize professional training by using technologies such as Virtual Reality to dispense courses about various topics. They also create content like gamified experiences such as Serious Games and possess partnerships with others companies such as HP and Lenovo.

They wanted to create a virutal campus in which people could connect to from their PC (also in Virtual Reality) and take classes. The MIMA Team could also connect to it and interact with the users. Everybody would have a personalized avatar, could add contacts and planify all their courses. This virtual campus also had for purpose to be showcased to potential clients in order to show them what MIMA could create if other companies requested their services.

Working from home and using Unreal Engine, I worked closely with the President of the company in order to create the different spaces he wanted to see in the campus. Each week, we would do a virtual meeting in which I would show him the progress made in the engine, take his requests and modify the campus accordingly based on his feedbacks, while also providing ideas and inputs on what could be useful to add.

After 3 months, I provided a small prototype (not final) that the company could showcase to potential clients and demonstrate what a virtual campus could look like. This prototype is an environment with different zones and spaces. Others more urgent projects had to be signed and done by the MIMA Team, resulting in the virtual campus going on standby indefinitly.
