MINING MADNESS

CARD AND DICE BOARD GAME

CREATION OF A BOARD GAME IN SOLO DURING BACHELOR STUDY

CONCEPT

"6 friends decide to buy an old mine which apparently contains a cave filled with lots of precious ressources. However, when they wanted to start digging, they couldn't agree on which direction to take. Quickly, the appeal of wealth took over their friendship and they decided to each go a separate way. In order to settle it for good, they all agreed that the first of them who would find the cave would be able to keep everything! But all of them should watch their back..."

Mining Madness is a game using a rotating board, 2 dices and multiple bonus/trap cards (some traps can be used against another player). Each player is set on a zone, and has to use the dices in order to progressively "dig" his path to the center of the board. However, if a "Earthquake" event happens, the board will rotate, and the players will end up switching paths, on which they will have to play until another "Earthquake" comes up.

PROJECT GOALS

The goal was to create a board game with all its elements from start to finish, starting with a prototyping phase and ending up with a complete game. Then, the game was adapted on Tabletop Simulator.
